His idea was to make the best of the significant advantages of the island's climatological and geological conditions as well as the huge variety of native aromatic and medicinal plants and produce high quality organic products that can be used by the food, pharmacutical and cosmetics industries. Furthermore, he wanted to demonstrate to local farmers , by example, that there are efficient alternative methods of cultivation (organic farming) and that aromatic plants could be a potential source of income for them, that can be obtained using fields with poor soil that are now either abandoned or used just for feeding animals.

Nikos Hatziandreou has a BA in International Policy and Administration from Staffordshire University (UK) and an MA in Diplomatic Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of London (University of Westminster- UK). Between 2000 and 2008 he worked as a business consultunt for two of the biggest multinational Consulting-Auditing firms (Athens offices). In July 2008 he moved with his family to Naxos (an island in the Cyclades complex) and worked as an Advisor to the Mayor of Naxos until the end of 2010.
